Dr Lim Lian Arn is the medical director and senior orthopaedic surgeon of Alpha Joints & Orthopaedics at Gleneagles Hospital. He began his practice so that he could provide the individualised treatment and care that patients seek. His goal is to help his clients of all ages return to the level of physical activity that suits them best. 

Dr Lim has decades of experience in orthopaedics. Prior to setting up his practice at Gleneagles Hospital in 2012, Dr Lim was an orthopaedic surgeon at the orthopaedic centre at Raffles Hospital from 2002 to 2012, and he was a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Tan Tock Seng Hospital from 1994 to 2002.

Dr Lim graduated with Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, from the National University of Singapore in 1989, and obtained his post graduate degree Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, United Kingdom in 1993. He completed advanced training in joint replacement at the Mayo Clinic in 1998, focusing on knee and hip replacement surgery.

In addition to his general orthopaedic work, Dr Lim specialises in minimally invasive partial knee replacement, total knee replacement and hip replacement surgery. An avid marathon runner, Dr Lim has a personal interest in sports injuries of the knees and shoulders, and performs keyhole arthroscopic surgery as well as cartilage transplantation surgery for ligament and cartilage injury. 

He also addresses a range of conditions, including but not limited to ankle instability, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears, carpal tunnel syndrome, hallux valgus, hip arthritis, knee arthritis, meniscal tears, osteoporosis, prolapsed intervertebral discs, recurrent shoulder dislocation, rotator cuff tears, shoulder impingement, trigger finger, and wrist fractures.

Aside from his work in Singapore Dr Lim has lectured, organised and run orthopaedic training workshops and performed surgery in China, Indonesia and Myanmar.
